I always appreciate the depth of the one’s soul. And how we can either diminish (breaks into small pieces) or how we can exceed expectations, all is determined by the depth of our strength and passion we hold inside rib cages.

Every time she is at the park,
The trees start to weep,
wishing they weren’t so tall,
cause her love is so deep.

An Urban Free Verse: Soul Searching

Going for a hike up top a hillside or through a forest. One could find answers in the trees. Leaves floating in the breeze sing of life, nature’s solace offers gifts. I find myself there quite often. I wait for the lyrics in the birds, song of the wind. It’s priceless. It doesn’t cost anything to soul search. An urban free verse poetry and digital art piece offering answers.

Embedded, centrifugal pieces
enthrall me

and I step,
carefully, breathlessly,
around, up and over.

Each further, each closer,
each answer…another question.

Cornerstones set, pulled apart of mind…of heart.

I, hiking further and further…
Atop a mountain recovering parts once lost.
Seeing blue, seeing myself new.

Within the warm places of love, confidence, acceptance of self, is where blossoms of success wait to bloom in the spectacular colors of life. We are our destination, sometimes putting road blocks in our paths. I am guilty of this, allowing myself to trip in rabbit holes of darkness. A free verse poetry and digital art piece for enjoyment.

Utopia is mine

Free Verse Poetry: Utopia is Mine—Me.

I have walked this path before…
It knows of my feet.
Green breaths linger overhead.
Even the air smells the same.
Blue welcomes my presence.
Happiness is some stones—
I’ve kicked with toes in tennis shoes,
Struggles are ones left off —too many bruises.
Yet…Birds swoop and dive in blue
singing positive vibes too.

And fragrance—favorite scent for
noses are searching for love.
Gorgeous lavender swaying in breeze—Looking beautiful.
I’ve finally surmise…This my path alone.
And the grass between toes.
Utopia is mine—me.

Free verse poetry, “Boxes. Sun Fingers. Hot Liquid.”

Sometimes life puts one in situations, not of choice, learning lessons is the story of unfolding. Maybe it is a new calling…and had you not experienced personal hardship you would have never found your true calling. Are you listening? A free verse poetry and digital piece to emphasize depth.

Life a Pendulum

I was there at a point in life. I was going through a challenging relationship, and in it, I found I had the voice to write words and tell a story of emotions. The relationship ended, but I found my true self. My voice, my strength to speak out-loud and be heard.

Free verse poetry: Boxes. Sun Fingers. Hot Liquid.

Breathing soul,
do you still question?

You once slept
in cardboard boxes
on a cracked concrete
that held skyscrapers.

It was cold.

Sun fingers brought
warmth…to tattered blankets
and wherever you slept,
that path
held it’s paintings.

Some mornings
an aluminum cylinder was
left with yesterday’s
morsels for screaming tummy.

And sometimes was nothing.

Breathing soul,
isn’t it lovely—

you now sit beside
bright window…
With etchings of beauty.
Hot steaming liquid
to pour down a throat.

Life paints boxes. Sun fingers. A Hot liquid of how small it taste but enjoyable.

A wolf has a true identity of self. It binds with its own likeness, it is driven by instinctive evolution. Its character never changes. There is a strong sense of survivalist. With a pack or alone, it doesn’t question life. Taught at a very young age to survive by a pure predatory state. We, as individuals question true self. Question life. A free verse poetry to open eyes!

Free Verse Poetry: Wolf’s True Self

Who’s lurking, pervasive stance is a
cry of beauty: is of raw primal:
is old-eyed evolution?
Of a gregarious nature and behavior.
Our primitive and humane culture.
“I shall fear! If not for education,
a tidbit, a morsel.
If not an extension of self, life.
Full of vigor, and adaptable
and life and denial and food.
“Don’t fear the unknown, if you’ve,
set yourself in hunger’s path.
Each of being prey, each to fall and
surmise destiny.
Now I know the smell of fear,
and stay clear in desperation.
Small goosebumps rise.
Sanity grows in a pack of preparation.
The disguise is in strength.
Each fear and power have resilience.
It is I; it is I who closes the gap of
strength in knowing, of true-self.

Sometimes we think we can fix people, but in turn, we are ones who can change from who we really are. Be careful that you don’t take it to much negativity, that your real identity gets lost. The quote below simplifies what I was trying to convey here.

It’s the knowing and belonging within. That comfort of feeling alone, holding this strength that just glows from the soul. It leaks from the eyes, the mouth, and the nose.

It’s the being comfortable with; The skin draped over muscle and bone. The love for the complex words. Moving them from brain to mouth. Using lips to offer the true self out.

When the quietness surfaces,
Bringing light to the dark emptiness,
wrap yourself in it.
Enjoy the love of nothingness.
The standing alone with the scars,
the laughter, and the smiles.
With self.
For there’s something to be said about this.

Sometimes, someone can tear at the strength of you, and break you till you feel weak and defenseless. Find that flame that barely flickers within you, lite it again. Burn down those bridges that deserve to fall, move in the path of the strength of who you truly are.

She stands alone in the forest of fear.
Gripped by the shadows of struggles.
Loneliness wraps its fingers around her brain
She panics with her insecurities.
The dark branches cast shadowy ghosts,
Attacking at her weakness, when she is the lowest.

Running to find the meadow of strength.
The light is dim, but she runs into it.
Closer she comes to light.
Quickness in her step she follows.
Warmth erodes all the dark places of her mind.
Her true self —has stirred her light.
