She hears his broken voice, weighted with the responsibilities of more than he can handle. It pains her heart, like stones, weighted, some heavier than others, she tries to soften the morning with tender words and caring. An urban free verse poetry and digital art piece to convey a soft story of love.

Urban Free Verse: White Flowers Flirting

Like kicking stones, I felt the tug…
a thud in my heart; my first inkling
of sadness in your voice.
It felt heavy. Strained under stress.
(Strained and not a stone.)
White flowers of flirting with you,
couldn’t change it.
My hearing perception becomes
articulate to your voice; like singing birds
on a window seal.
How have I become so in tune?
A small ping. Pings with this heart of mine,
of your feelings, when darkened clouds fade the moonbeams
in your eyes.
This-isn’t a metaphor for soul material.
But depths of souls united.
Today, the beckoning dynamics of life,
waver in the trickling of sun fingers
upon your black truck.
I watch as sparrow flies into blue, and fade.
The once youth now bows under,
the strain of another day.
Some days don’t bring sunshine and bliss.
If I could change the weathering storm,
I would.

This storm will soon pass.

Love can be such a challenging emotion. I’ve learned communication is the key to the longevity of a relationship, to have the ability to agree or disagree without becoming uncivil. To be able to resolve problems together quietly. In this free verse poetry and digital art piece written about resolution and forgiving.

Free Verse Poetry: She’s Holding His Heart

My heartbeats fade; hiding behind a glass wall.
I said I wouldn’t do it again: not one tear.
I am cold. I am warm.
My blurry reflection eyes, of me
Like sprinkling raindrops, the profile of the moon,
breaking through gray.
I turn this direction—warmth dissipates; I’m hurting.
I turn that way—I’m inside your arms once again,
depending on when you have time to spare.
I walk through the parking lot, of dimly lit high street lamps.

Headlights flash, I jump aside.
Windows roll down, voices yell into the night.
Pounding feet behind me, warm arms reach.
A masculine man stands before me;
The baby blue eyes look through to mine. I’m a window.
He’s lost his heart inside warmth. In the glass wall
a woman’s trying to forgive words;
No, she’s holding his heart.

It is on the chances, the risks, the willingness of working, talking, through the struggles, through the blessings. When loves greatest strength is in the doing, not the saying of words, there is a strength in love. A free verse poetry and a digital art piece to personify love.

Free Verse Poetry: Blue Thoughts

Blue thoughts.
Blue thoughts in a cage, my mind barred.
Your eyes, as blind as the blue.

We are
lost,
barred by the black emptiness, we seek
the words that ascended harmony:
love.

Love—a blinded emotion.
Your heart and mine.
They see
to passion.

Devotion.
Expressed thoughts upon expressed thoughts
adds strength to it.

Three words like these words and the interpreters will
succeed in the stories and struggles together in love.

Along with warm side breezes, fragrance drifting across noses, green turning fading colors, dogs barking, and children squealing and playing. Summer in a park is a place for romance. A free verse poetry and digital art piece to tantalize new love.

Free verse Poetry: Parkside Romance, Summer

Haze. Many tall stems bent,
one over the other.
A weave of lavender hanging bells.
Pink gamma light. Teardrops of dew
and the warmth for tender seeds.
A man and woman walk on concrete:
he sees a glitter in her eyes,
for how else can she sense,
even before he knew, that he’d,
Get down on his knees. A jogger
sputters by with squawking furry beast
on a long red leash.
I want to ask you something, he says.
Yes, she replies. Two yellow cabs blow horns;
Passerby stares.
On bended knee; Will you marry me!
A thrill of happiness surges in
beating hearts.
A sky opens—radiance shines.
Feathers flutter in blue.
How sentimental it fills to see romance,
brighter than a red rose.
A blast of gushing air through trees.
A baby cries.
Birds sing.

I want to feel your body.
But not in the way, you would think.
I want you…

I want you…
I want to feel your soul as our
laughter mixes over words.
I want the non-existent…
I want the untamed thoughts…
I want wild dreams that float…
I want to see the stars glisten.
Glisten through blue eyes.
I want to feel you,
But not LAYERED upon my skin.
I want to see you,
But only in STAYING dreams.
I want to make love to your heart.
I want to feel your tears set a fire,
I want your whispers to bring
goosebumps RISE to my arms.
I want to know that you love.
Love from within ribs holding a heart.
I want more than this physicalness.
I want you.

Relationships need to time to ignite, two small flames flickering in a crazy, busy lifestyle. But certain things can change it. Add children into the mix, and boom. The flame has the possibility of going out. Unless there are great communication and understanding in place. A little free verse poetry about love and romance. They thought we were
a desert summer storm.
But they didn’t even know it was more,
In the heat of the night,
it’s possible to see dust plumes
scatter across a dark sky.
And a dampness of morning dew
across passionate ripples.
You were the dark sky
and I, a glistening star.
You could see our love
in the fall of shooting stars,
and as our glow of existence
settles in the sand, you’ll hear our
soft, quiet sighs with the
rise and fall of the sun.

“Let’s take this to another place, he said.
Drive away from reality.
Nothing could be perfect at this moment.
Away from the noises of today.
Nothing last forever in this life.
He is my handsome white knight.
He’s so notorious, but he wears it so well. (bad in a good way.)
And I with full pink lips and blushed cheeks.
Crazy dream or reality?
The wind is whipping my hair into gray skies;
music is coming from our radio.
I thought I was going to melt.
His hand upon my lap.
Stars are in his baby blues.
He’s singing to drifting clouds.
Crazy dream or reality?
We parked at an empty beach for two; stepping onto the warm sand with bare feet.
Staring into the sunset,
with his arms around my waist.
His lips held mine tenderly, standing in a purple summer dress.
Say we’ll do this again.
Say that you’ll remember this moment.
Say it will last forever.
Or is it just…Crazy dream or reality?

A lady in love…longs for the days when she and her lover would take the time to wander the ocean shores holding hands and enjoying the beauty in its scenery. A digital piece of art to enjoy too.

White puffy clouds.
Tethered in the wind like balloons.
Some drifting fast. Some a little slower.
The wind sings of crashing lyrics.
Moving the water of ocean floors.
Floating boats carry the notes
up and down to the shores.
Flying Origami screeches for food.
Soaring and diving head first into a wave.
While I with limbs extended
in a liquid blanket,
embrace the coolness of its song.
I too…long for more.

I found you,
among the barnacles
and dead sea skeletons
in the dark sea of life.
Trapped in a
fishnet of scars
and weighted memories.
I swam to you,
luring you with bait,
backed by a smile
and laughter so contagious,
and that kind of sweetness
that you couldn’t resist,
setting you free.
You seemed to flounder
for awhile.
Unable to accept,
that life could offer promises
of love, so true and complete.
But over time, I saw a twinkle
in those baby blue eyes,
as they soften with
the reflection of me.

I have felt you,
warmth through
the scars you wear,
bleeding light through
wounds covered with skin.
I’m sorry for the layers
and the shadows you hide in,
I’m sorry for the fear
that imprisons you there.
I have felt you,
tears streaming through holes
for eyes to see,
voice trembling,
but begging for understanding,
for a small eclipse
of life within me.
