Micro-Poetry: Yielding Flower

In this micro-poetry, “Yielding Flower.”

In these past two years, grief struck me 7 times, sporadic spread over months, one healing, only to be broken and opened again with pain. In those months, I learned, to accept the losses, ones I had no control over, or to stop. Yet, I yielded to the pain, absorbed all the loss. Then, one small step after another, one day at a time, I, blossomed into whom I am today.

This is how, how I can humbly breathe life into words. It is my burning desire, to teach, to inspire, saying that we all prevail many storms, and yet, we can still rise like the yielding flower after a summer storm.

Thank you, to all of you for your gracious support. You keep me inspired with a driven determination that there is more to life.

I thank my beautiful little girl, who tells me: “Mommy, we can do this with tears in her eyes after losing her daddy, and me a husband and many more special ones in our lives.”

Here is my strength micro-poetry

Yielding Flower

Like a blossom
for the first time yielding,
to a summer storm.
I too must open and accept
to feel pain.
Not to be afraid
of the human experience.

Poetry – Puncture Wounds of the Heart

A free verse poetry “Puncture Wounds of the Heart.”

I express love. A piece of poetry for the memories of loved one’s we’ve lost, to always remember their laughter, smiles, experiences forever embedded in our hearts. You are loved and missed. And may you be running through the fields of wildflowers laughing into the sunshine.

Image of A free verse poetry "Puncture Wounds of the Heart."

He left a puncture wound in my heart.
Mind you, not the kind that you could see red.
It was invisible to a naked eye.
It was gaping, deep inside.
It was dark and gray. It was a sad feeling.
But yet, the sun still shined in blue.
Flowers too, so brilliant that I could tweak a smile.
He didn’t mean to leave me this way.
He tried like hell to stay.
But he was fighting a battle inside,
the kind I couldn’t protect him.
I gave him all my red I could pour,
from one heart to another.
I embraced him, laced him with it.
But it wasn’t enough. It was my sweethearts time to go.
To the heavens above.
I know one day that this puncture wound will close.
And I also know, never completely.
But I can feel the wound is a little smaller.
It’s getting better, cause I can now see stars
in the night skies and see the moon when he smiles in heaven.
